STALKER WHO BOMBARDED EX WITH HUNDREDS OF CALLS AND MESSAGES BRANDED 'NAUGHTY' BY THEIR CHILD

A man who relentlessly harassed his former partner with hundreds of calls and texts—so much that their young child called him "naughty"—has been jailed.

Daniel Allison, 30, had been in a relationship with the woman between 2016 and 2021.

She ended the relationship in April 2021.

At Newcastle Crown Court, prosecutor Estelle Chambers explained: "She described it as bad and describes him as controlling, often guilt-tripping her by saying he was going to kill himself and he had also been violent." Although the relationship was over, Allison’s behavior continued.

He was first given a restraining order in 2022 for criminal damage, and another in 2023, but he repeatedly ignored both.

On February 7 this year, the woman spotted Allison while at the Prince of Wales pub in Blyth and left with a friend.

She stayed at her friend’s home that night but the next morning began receiving a series of phone calls.

The calls came from a withheld number, but she recognized Allison’s voice.

He then began ringing from his own number.

That day alone, she had 29 missed calls from a withheld number and one from Allison’s mobile.

The next three days brought more: 41 missed calls on day two, 58 on day three, and 44 on day four.

Alongside the calls, he sent 112 text messages in the same four-day period, none of which she answered.

He also attempted to contact her through her friend.

In another burst of harassment, Allison sent 145 further texts over four days and continued ringing her more than ten times daily.

In her victim impact statement, the woman said: "This is a repeated pattern and it's stressful.

It not only affects me but also my child who said 'my daddy is naughty and my daddy should not be ringing you'.

She's only four and should not know stuff like that.

"Nothing seems to be getting better and it's the same vicious cycle over and over again.

The restraining order means nothing to him, it's literally just a piece of paper.

"He will get released from prison and start contacting me again.

It's a persistent hindrance on my life." Allison, of Holystone Avenue, Newsham, Blyth, already had 12 prior convictions, including harassment of the same victim, criminal damage, and seven breaches of restraining orders.

He admitted to stalking causing serious alarm or distress and to breaching the order.

Recorder Geraldine Kelly sentenced him to 16 months in prison, telling him: "You have been a thorough nuisance to the mother of your child.

All, it seems, through your unwillingness to accept she doesn't want your contact.

"The fact you have been in prison before for harassing her and breaching that restraining order should go to show how seriously the courts take it but you don't seem interested in learning and just do what you want to, regardless of the fact you are making her life a misery.

"We've heard from her and the effect you've had on her.

It's stressful and it's not just affecting her but it's also affecting your four-year-old child, who you say is your priority.

"She refers to you as naughty daddy and she knows her daddy should not be ringing her mummy.

(The victim) is quite right to be distressed her four-year-old daughter is speaking in that way rather than being ignorant of her father's bad behaviour."
