BURNHAM-ON-SEA PAEDOPHILE CYRIL JENKINS SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF SEVEN-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Burnham-on-Sea, Cyril Jenkins, a 67-year-old man from Grove Road, was sentenced to a total of eight years in prison after being found guilty of multiple sexual offenses involving a young girl he had been babysitting.
The court proceedings revealed a pattern of heinous acts committed by Jenkins, who had initially appeared in Taunton Crown Court via a video link from Exeter Prison to face the charges.
According to the prosecution, led by Caroline Bolt, Jenkins had developed a friendly relationship with the family and had stepped in to assist with childcare during the school half-term holiday.
However, this seemingly benign arrangement took a dark turn after the family experienced a falling out with Jenkins.
It was then that the young girl disclosed to her mother that Jenkins had made inappropriate advances towards her, specifically asking to touch her in a sexual manner.
The girl’s account, as recorded during police interviews, was limited but distressing.
She expressed her discomfort, stating that she did not like what Jenkins had asked and repeatedly told him
