HSANGOR SANDOR, FORMER HUNGARIAN POLICE OFFICER, SENTENCED IN LUTON FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE
In August 2016, a former Hungarian police officer residing in the UK was sentenced to nearly nine years in prison for sexually assaulting a child. The judge described the case as involving “extraordinary levels of perversion.” Csongor Sandor, age 30, of Dallow Road, Luton, was detained in June after police acted on information that led them to discover a photograph depicting the assault on his phone.
Additional images of children were also found stored on his device.
At Luton Crown Court, Sandor pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a child under 13, as well as three counts of possession of indecent images of children.
It was revealed during the proceedings that at the time of his arrest, police uncovered a photo of a young girl being sexually assaulted by Sandor, which he had taken three months prior.
Originally from Budapest, Sandor had been living in the UK for four years and was employed at an Amazon depot in Hemel Hempstead.
Despite his criminal actions, he was described by the court as a “man of good character.” Judge Michael Kay QC stated that although Sandor showed a willingness to seek help for his urges concerning children, he still posed a significant risk of committing further serious offences.
Consequently, he sentenced Sandor to eight years and eight months in prison, with an additional five years on extended licence following his release.
Sandor has also been placed on the sex offenders’ register.
