Specifically, the material involved videos and images depicting acts that are considered highly disturbing and potentially life-threatening, such as acts of violence, rape, sexual acts involving serious injury, and even sexual activity with a corpse or an animal.
The case was based on evidence that indicated Finch had been caught with an SD memory card containing videos that portrayed explicit acts likely to cause serious injury to a person's private parts.
The incident was reported to have occurred on November 24 of the previous year in Banbury.
Under the law, possession of such material can lead to a maximum sentence of three years in prison.
It is important to note that individuals convicted of such offenses are only required to register as sex offenders if they receive a custodial sentence exceeding two years.
Finch’s sentencing was scheduled for September 19 at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court.
In a related development, Thames Valley Police confirmed that Finch had resigned from his position on the Wednesday prior to his court appearance, having been suspended from duty since November of the previous year.
