21-YEAR-OLD MAN SENTENCED TO FIVE MONTHS FOR DOMESTIC ASSAULT
A 21-YEAR-OLD man named Conor Barry McBarron, residing at Main Street, Ballinamallard, was convicted of assaulting his former partner earlier this year.The incident occurred on March 1, when the woman reported to Enniskillen police that she was attacked in her home early in the morning after returning from a night out.
Officers observed facial injuries consistent with her account.
She stated that her ex-boyfriend entered her home and assaulted her, lasting about 15 to 20 minutes.
During the attack, she was pulled to the floor and punched on her face, with additional claims that her partner grabbed her by the neck.
McBarron was later found at his mother’s house, arrested, and refused to discuss the incident during police interviews, denying the assault.
He pleaded guilty to the domestic assault, and the court sentenced him to five months in jail, also ordering him to pay a £25 offender levy.
Furthermore, the court revoked his probation order for other offences and replaced it with a nine-month probation order to be activated upon his release.
