CONNOR HAYES BANNED FROM CONTACTING GIRLS AFTER BOURNEMOUTH SEX OFFENCES
In December 2018, Connor Hayes, a man with no fixed address residing in Bournemouth, was once again taken into custody and sentenced to serve time in prison after admitting to new criminal charges involving a teenage girl. The Bournemouth Crown Court heard that Hayes pleaded guilty to two serious counts: one for causing or inciting a girl aged between 13 and 15 to engage in sexual activity, and another for causing a girl in the same age range to watch a sexual act.
As a result, Hayes was sentenced to a total of 21 months behind bars, according to Dorset Police reports.
In addition to his prison sentence, Hayes was ordered to be placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for a period of ten years.
The court also extended and amended the existing Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) that Hayes was previously subject to, now prohibiting him from contacting girls under the age of 16 until the year 2028.
These legal measures aim to restrict Hayes’s ability to reoffend and to protect potential victims from further harm.
Hayes’s criminal history includes a prior conviction from December 2016, when he was sentenced to two years in prison after admitting to possessing indecent images of a child, creating such images, and paying for sexual services involving a minor.
During that earlier case, Hayes had befriended a girl who was over 16 at the time, but under 18, which made certain acts illegal.
Hayes and an accomplice convinced the girl to participate in a sex video, claiming it was for Hayes’s personal use.
However, the video was later uploaded online, leading to further investigations that uncovered the recent offences.
At the time of the latest offences, Hayes was working as a webcam model, selling videos and live streams of himself engaging in sexual acts.
Investigators found messages exchanged between Hayes and the victim, which contained sexual content and references to her being 15 years old.
Hayes expressed affection for the girl, spoke about getting a hotel, and even suggested they could engage in sexual activities for money once she turned 16 or 17.
On September 6, 2015, Hayes sent the victim a link to a pornographic website.
Over the course of their communication, they had 53 Skype video calls.
During interviews, the victim revealed that Hayes first contacted her when she was just 14 years old via Facebook and later over Skype.
During these video calls, Hayes asked her to undress and perform sexual acts, and he also exposed himself to her.
Hayes was arrested on June 29, 2016, and subsequently charged with these offences, which have now culminated in his recent conviction and sentencing.
