CONNOR GREER JAILED IN GLASGOW FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF YOUNG GIRL
In July 2014, Connor Greer, age 22, was sentenced to three years and four months in prison after admitting to raping and abusing a young girl in Glasgow.
Greer pleaded guilty to charges of rape and two counts of lewd and libidinous conduct spanning from 2003 to 2011 at various residences in Glasgow.
The High Court in Glasgow was informed that his abusive behavior began when the girl was just seven years old, and he continued to assault her until she was 14 or 15.
The victim did not initially disclose the abuse; however, she confided in a friend in 2012, which led to police intervention.
During the hearing, Judge Lord Turnbull remarked, “It is obvious that your conduct caused enormous stress on the young victim in her teenage years.
It is also obvious that the conduct is of such a serious nature and harmful form that a custodial sentence is the only disposal.” Court records revealed that the abuse took place repeatedly at houses in the Southside area of Glasgow, often during the night when Greer would “change.” Greer, from the Pollok area of the city, was also placed on the sex offenders register.
A solicitor for Greer, Euan Dow, stated that Greer was “unable to provide any explanation for what went on.” This case followed a June 2014 hearing where Greer admitted to similar charges, and the court accepted he was a sex offender.
The victim, who was 21 at the trial, was visibly emotional as she saw justice served in court, and Greer was remanded into custody pending sentencing scheduled for the following month.
