COLIN WASEY SENTENCED IN SUNDERLAND FOR DECADES-OLD SEX OFFENCES AGAINST GIRLS
In a significant development in the pursuit of justice, Colin Wasey, a man with a long history rooted in Sunderland, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for a series of sexual offences committed against young girls decades ago.
The crimes, which spanned from the late 1960s through the early 1980s, have finally been brought to light and addressed in a court of law.
Wasey, now aged 77 and residing on Zetland Square in Sunderland, faced a trial at Newcastle Crown Court where he was convicted of multiple counts of indecent assault.
Despite his vehement denial of any wrongdoing, the evidence presented during the trial was compelling enough to secure his conviction.
