FACES OF EVIL: POLICE RELEASE MUGSHOTS OF TWO MEN JAILED FOR SEX ASSAULTS ON TEEN
Authorities have made public the booking photos of two men incarcerated for a series of sexual offenses committed against a teenager dealing with gender identity issues.Andrew Davies, aged 56, of Duke Street in Taunton, and Colin Pearce, aged 72, from Calway Road in Taunton, were convicted last Thursday after a four-day trial at Taunton Crown Court.
The police have disclosed the mugshots of the two men sentenced to prison for multiple sexual assaults on a vulnerable teen.
Davies was convicted of one count of sexual penetration of a minor, two counts of sexual activity with a minor, and one count of inducing a minor to participate in sexual acts.
Pearce was convicted of two charges of inducing a minor to engage in sexual activity and one count of sexual activity with a minor.
During the trial, it was revealed that both men had befriended the teenager by giving alcohol, cigarettes, and kindness, eventually subjecting the teen to sexual abuse.
Judge Jonathan Barnes, who sentenced the men, stated: "Your victim was a very vulnerable child.
You demonstrated a sexual interest in the child and began grooming them with alcohol, cigarettes, money, kindness, and attention.
When this child believed they had a friend, you proceeded to sexually abuse them." In a statement from the victim, the teenager expressed that they resorted to self-harm, alcohol, and drugs as ways to cope with the trauma they endured.
The victim described their feelings: "It made me feel sick.
I feel disgusted.
It deeply traumatized me and has negatively affected my life forever.
I cannot undo what happened to me.
I will never forget what I experienced at the hands of Andrew and Colin." Davies was sentenced to a total of seven years in prison: seven years for the first offense, four years for the second and third charges, and three years for the final offense, all sentences to be served simultaneously.
Pearce received a four-year prison term for inducing a minor to engage in sexual activity and an additional three years for a second count of inducing a minor, along with three years for sexual activity with a minor, with all terms to run concurrently.
