EDINBURGH WAR HERO COLIN KENNEDY EXPOSED AS CHILD ABUSE IMAGE HOARDER AND PEVERT IN SHOCKING SCANDAL
In a disturbing revelation that has shocked the local community and military circles alike, Colin Kennedy, a former soldier from Edinburgh and an Afghan war veteran, has been publicly exposed as a pervert involved in heinous acts of voyeurism and child exploitation.Kennedy, aged 28, who served as a lance corporal with the Royal Scots Borderers, has been found guilty of secretly filming women in private moments and hoarding indecent images of children, including some at the most severe level of abuse.
His criminal activities came to light after police investigations uncovered a series of disturbing offences committed over a year-long period.
Kennedy had clandestinely installed a camera phone in the bathroom of a farmhouse located in Ayrshire, where he recorded his wife and other women without their knowledge or consent.
These recordings, which spanned from October 2012 to October 2013, captured victims undressing, bathing, and using the toilet, revealing a gross violation of their privacy.
During police interviews, Kennedy admitted to storing the device and using it to record women in private acts.
Prosecutor Jo Cunningham told Kilmarnock Sheriff Court that Kennedy’s actions were carried out without the victims’ awareness, and it remains unclear exactly how many recordings he made during this period.
The court heard that the offences involved multiple victims, with some recordings capturing intimate moments that should have remained private.
Further investigations led police to raid Kennedy’s residence in Edinburgh, where they seized computers and a mobile device.
A forensic examination of these devices uncovered a disturbing collection of 29 indecent images and videos involving children as young as six years old.
Among these, two images were classified as Category A, indicating the most severe form of child abuse.
It was revealed that Kennedy’s criminal conduct was not limited to voyeurism.
In 2014, military police questioned him regarding a separate matter involving allegations of spying on servicewomen by peering through windows at an Army base.
His ex-wife disclosed that Kennedy had been caught engaging in such activities at a barracks down south, although she admitted she never received a full account from him or the military authorities.
She recounted that Kennedy was questioned about these incidents before admitting to the more serious offences involving the filming and possession of child abuse images.
The ex-wife described her shock upon discovering the extent of Kennedy’s actions.
She recounted that police had arrived unexpectedly at her Edinburgh home, where she was living in Army accommodation, and conducted a search without initially explaining the purpose.
She was told only that they were looking for devices with storage capacity for pictures, but was left unaware of the full scope of her husband’s crimes until the charges were read out in court.
She revealed that she and Kennedy had been together for five years and married in 2012, but their relationship ended shortly after the allegations surfaced.
She described her feelings of betrayal, stating, “It was like the rug was whipped out from under me.” She also expressed her frustration at Kennedy’s silence and refusal to explain his actions, adding that the women involved in the recordings felt deeply betrayed and had not maintained contact with him since the scandal broke.
Kennedy pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including the filming offences and possession of indecent images of children.
Sheriff David Hall ordered that he be placed on the sex offenders’ register and granted him bail.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled after the completion of reports, which will determine the severity of his punishment for these grave crimes.
