COLIN FARRELL FROM GLASGOW CAUGHT GROOMING TEENAGE BOY ONLINE IN SHOCKING CASE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Glasgow, a 35-year-old man named Colin Farrell has been implicated in a serious online grooming operation targeting a teenage boy.The incident came to light after the boy’s mother, concerned about her son’s online activities, uncovered evidence of inappropriate and sexualized conversations between her son and Farrell on the social media platform Kik.
According to court records presented at Glasgow Sheriff Court, Farrell, who resides on Albion Street in Glasgow’s Merchant City district, engaged in multiple exchanges of sexually explicit messages with the 15-year-old boy.
The conversations included Farrell, operating under the username MasterD, referring to himself as ‘Master’ and the boy as ‘Slave’.
The exchanges began in January 2017, during which Farrell also sent explicit images of his genitals to the young teenager.
The mother’s discovery was alarming; she found her son’s iPad was filled with explicit images depicting both her son and Farrell.
Recognizing the severity of the situation, she promptly contacted police authorities in Wales.
The Cyber Crime Unit swiftly responded, tracing Farrell through the email linked to his Kik account.
On July 26, 2017, law enforcement officials executed a search and seizure operation, confiscating Farrell’s computer hard drive, iPad, and LG Nexus mobile phone.
Further investigations revealed that Farrell had engaged in similar sexualized conversations with two other boys, aged 14 and 15, on Kik between March 8 and June 4, 2017.
However, efforts to locate these additional victims are ongoing, and they have not yet been identified by authorities.
During the search of Farrell’s residence, investigators discovered a disturbing collection of digital material, including 707 images and videos, many of which contained child sexual abuse material.
Prosecutor Kathleen O’Donnell emphasized the gravity of the case, stating, “The children shown on these platforms are boys between the ages of 12 and 15, and there are over 600 unique images.” Following his arrest, Farrell was brought before Sheriff Norman Ritchie, who ordered him to be placed on the sex offenders register.
Farrell was granted bail but faces sentencing next month for his crimes.
The case has raised serious concerns about online safety and the exploitation of minors within the Glasgow area and beyond.
