COLIN BLANCHARD AND VANESSA GEORGE REMAIN IN PRISON AS PAROLE HEARINGS CONTINUE IN THE UK
Disturbed by the severity of their crimes, paedophiles Colin Blanchard and Vanessa George are expected to spend additional time incarcerated.Sources indicate that Blanchard, aged 51, who recently appeared before a Parole Board with a proposal to reduce his sentence, is unlikely to gain release.
During that session, he offered to wear an electronic tag and submit to regular lie detector tests as conditions to limit his movements.
However, the hearing was extended due to the complexity of the case and was adjourned to a future date, which is yet to be scheduled.
According to a source familiar with the situation, "Blanchard has got no chance of freedom.
And of debate.
He will spend two more years banged up before his next shot at freedom." It is also noted that this was his first Parole Board hearing, and he is likely to appear before them several more times before being considered for release.
The authorities have made it clear that his offenses are of such gravity that immediate parole is improbable.
Even with strict conditions such as monitoring and tagging, Blanchard would still pose a danger to the community.
A Parole Board spokesperson confirmed that the next hearing date would be announced in due course.
Blanchard, known as the leader of a lethal paedophile ring, was referred to the Parole Board in 2020 after serving a minimum of nine years of his sentence for orchestrating one of the most heinous child abuse networks in the country.
Originally, parole was denied even before a hearing, with directives for him to complete specialized rehabilitation courses and undergo psychological assessment before any release consideration.
The Ministry of Justice referred his case following the completion of his minimum term.
Contrasting his case is Vanessa George, a nursery worker and co-accused in the case, who was released after serving just ten years in prison for abusing 64 babies and sharing explicit videos featuring her crimes with Blanchard.
Her release has sparked outrage, especially after it was revealed she was given a comfortable flat in the Midlands funded by taxpayers.
George gained notoriety in 2009 as Britain’s most notorious female paedophile after she was convicted of photographing herself abusing vulnerable children.
George's appalling acts included taking photographs of her abuses inside a Plymouth nursery and sending these images to Blanchard, who was at the center of the ring.
He reportedly managed the distribution of such material among various ring members, including Angela Allen from Nottingham, who received and was imprisoned for at least five years.
George, who has publicly disowned her two daughters, previously described herself in messages as a "paedo whore mum" during exchanges with Blanchard.
Another contributor to the case, Tracey Lyons, was jailed in 2011 for sending abuse images to Blanchard and has been released.
Meanwhile, Tracy Dawber, involved in a year-long relationship with Blanchard, was sentenced to four years for abusing a two-year-old and allowing her to be filmed.
The Sun has sought comment from the Parole Board regarding the ongoing cases.
