October 2013 Convicted paedophile 50, preyed on teenage girl at Welton Waters beauty spot THE mum of a schoolgirl who was preyed on by a dog walker is urging other parents to be vigilant. Clive Kirby, 50, befriended the 15-year-old girl at a popular East Yorkshire beauty spot. Sending her up to 200 texts a day while he groomed her, Kirby had sex with the girl at Welton Waters, near Brough. Weeks later, his wife walked in on him being sexually inappropriate with the girl in their home. Kirby, of Ruskin Way, Brough, has a previous conviction for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old and has now been jailed for four years. His latest victim’s mother, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said: “I would urge other parents to be aware of the dangers and to be vigilant. My child was too frightened to tell us the whole story. “He met her and took her to what seemed like a safe place but parents need to be aware this can happen anywhere. That man preyed on a vulnerable young person. She has lost her confidence as a result. She is very relieved he has been locked up and will not be out there walking the streets.
