CIARAN GUINEY FROM BELFAST SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF YOUNG GIRL
A man identified as Ciaran Guiney, aged 30 and residing in west Belfast, has been formally sentenced to serve a prison term of 16 months following his conviction on multiple serious charges related to the sexual abuse of a young girl.The court proceedings revealed that Guiney pleaded guilty to nine separate offences, which included engaging in sexual activities with a minor and coercing the young girl to watch and participate in sexual acts.
These criminal acts took place over a span of two years, during which the victim was between the ages of 13 and 15.
During the sentencing, the court emphasized the profound and lasting impact that Guiney's actions have had on the victim.
It was noted that she has been diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), a condition that underscores the severity of the trauma inflicted upon her.
The court also ordered Guiney to be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order for a period of seven years, aiming to restrict his activities and prevent any further harm.
