A bus driver from Dudley has received a prison sentence of over three years after being convicted of sexual assaults committed on children approximately 25 years prior.
During the proceedings at Wolverhampton Crown Court, it was revealed that Christopher Thornton, who resides on Central Drive, believed the case had been resolved, but his past actions had caught up with him, as explained by defense solicitor Gurdeep Garcha.
Garcha noted that the 51-year-old maintained his innocence and showed no signs of remorse for his crimes.
Thornton faced charges including two counts of indecent assault and three counts of indecency with a child.
He was ultimately sentenced to three years and nine months behind bars.
The presiding judge, Nicholas Webb, stated that Thornton’s acts had left his victims psychologically scarred.
Thornton, however, argued that the victims had been coerced into giving evidence by their father, claiming that the man owed him money and that this motivated the allegations.
