CHRISTOPHER SHAW AND SHOCKING CHILD EXPLOITATION IN STOKE-ON-TRENT AND SCHOLAR GREEN
A resident of Scholar Green, Christopher Shaw, aged 28, has admitted to serious charges involving the possession and creation of indecent images of children, raising concerns across the Stoke-on-Trent area.Shaw appeared before Cheshire Magistrates Court, which sits in Crewe, on July 7th.
During the hearing, he confessed to offenses spanning from September 11th, 2015, to June 19th, 2021, that included the making of 69 category C indecent photographs of children.
In addition, he acknowledged possessing a total of 83 indecent images of children, with some classified as more severely explicit.
The court also heard that Shaw admitted to producing 10 category A indecent images and four category B indecent images of minors.
These figures indicate a disturbing pattern of illegal activity involving the exploitation of children, raising alarm about the severity and duration of his offenses.
Following his admission, the court ordered Shaw to register with the police and report regularly at Crewe police station until the case is resolved.
He was remanded in custody on conditional bail, meaning he remains free under certain restrictions, until his next appearance.
This upcoming hearing is scheduled for August 8th at Chester Magistrates Court, where sentencing is expected to take approximately 30 minutes.
Prior to this, the court requested a detailed pre-sentence report to assess Shaw’s circumstances.
Additionally, the court imposed strict restrictions on Shaw’s access to electronic devices.
He is forbidden from using any device capable of connecting to the internet unless it can retain and display a history of internet activity at all times.
The device must be available for inspection by police officers upon request, and he is expressly prohibited from deleting or tampering with his internet history, to ensure compliance with the court’s order and to prevent further criminal activity.
This case highlights serious concerns about child exploitation and underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to address such grave offenses within the Stoke-on-Trent community and beyond.
