Melksham Child Sexual Abuser
In March 2013, authorities conducted a raid at a residence in Melksham that uncovered a disturbing collection of indecent images involving children and animals. The investigation led to the arrest of Christopher Julius Rowland, a 22-year-old resident of Scotland Road, Melksham. The police found hundreds of illicit images stored on his computer, which included material depicting bestiality as well as photographs of young girls under the age of 13.

Rowland faced serious charges in connection with these findings. He pleaded guilty to six counts of creating indecent images of children and two counts of possessing such images. The offences took place over a period spanning from September 2010 to June 2012. His court appearance was held at North West Wiltshire Magistrates Court on a recent Friday, where the gravity of his actions was formally acknowledged.

Prosecutor Pauline Lambert detailed the circumstances of the case, explaining that police had seized Rowland’s computer during a search of his home. The search was conducted last June, and at the time, Rowland was living with his mother and two young children. During police interviews, Rowland, who has Asperger’s syndrome, admitted responsibility for the images found on his device.

In sentencing, magistrates imposed a community order that will last for three years. This order requires Rowland to be under the supervision of a probation officer and to participate in an internet sex offender programme. Additionally, as part of the court’s measures to prevent further offending, Rowland has been placed on the sex offenders’ register for a period of five years, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities and compliance with legal restrictions.
