CHRISTOPHER ROBINSON FROM BLANDFORD SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE AND OVER 45,000 INDECENT IMAGES

A man identified as Christopher Robinson, aged 70 and residing in Blandford, has been handed a significant prison sentence following his conviction for multiple serious offenses related to child abuse and possession of explicit material. The sentencing took place at Bournemouth Crown Court on Monday, November 15, after Robinson was found guilty at an earlier trial of engaging in sexual assault against a young girl under the age of 13, as well as possessing a large collection of indecent images of children and extreme pornographic content.

Robinson was sentenced to a total of eight years and nine months in prison. In addition to his incarceration, he has been placed on the sex offenders’ register for life, a measure that ensures ongoing monitoring and restrictions. Furthermore, he is subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which aims to prevent any future offenses and protect the community from potential harm.

Detective Constable Ade Stocker, a member of Dorset Police’s child abuse investigation team, expressed his thoughts on the case, highlighting the bravery of the young victim. He stated, “I want to praise the young victim in this case for the courage she has shown and with the support of her family they have helped secure the conviction and imprisonment of Christopher Robinson for his repeated abuse.” He also emphasized the importance of such cases in demonstrating the police force’s dedication to supporting victims and delivering justice. “I hope this case demonstrates our commitment to supporting victims of child abuse and securing justice for them and this will encourage others to come forward and report offences.”

The investigation into Robinson’s activities was initiated after a disturbing incident on October 14, 2020, when the victim was overheard telling a friend that Robinson had touched her inappropriately. This disclosure prompted further inquiries, during which the young girl revealed that Robinson had sexually assaulted her multiple times since 2017. Authorities responded swiftly, arresting Robinson the following day. During the arrest, officers seized his electronic devices for forensic examination.

The analysis of Robinson’s digital devices uncovered a disturbing collection of indecent images. The images were categorized into different levels of severity, with Category A being the most serious. The investigation revealed that Robinson possessed 16 images classified as Category B and over 45,000 images classified as Category C. Additionally, officers discovered 34 videos containing extreme pornographic material, further underscoring the severity of his offenses.
