Caister sex offender sentenced for topless picture requests

CAISTER SEX OFFENDER SENTENCED FOR TOPLESS PICTURE REQUESTS

A convicted sex offender who tried to pay teenage girls for topless photos has received a suspended prison sentence.

Christopher Norris, aged 38, engaged in online conversations with two accounts he believed belonged to girls aged 13 and 14, with the intent of obtaining the images for sexual pleasure.

At the time of his re-arrest, he was already on bail for his initial offense.

The court was informed that the decoy accounts were operated by undercover officers posing as young girls.

Norris, from Wight Drive, Caister-on-Sea, previously admitted to two charges of attempted sexual communication with a minor, which took place in Great Yarmouth in August 2024 and between September 14 and 19 of the previous year.

Judge Alice Robinson sentenced him to nine months in prison, suspended for 18 months, and ordered him to complete 25 days of rehabilitation activities and 300 hours of unpaid work.

Additionally, he was placed on the sex offenders’ register and subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for a decade.

The court also ordered the destruction of a confiscated samurai sword.

Norris was still on bail when he was re-arrested, with the decoy accounts managed by undercover officers.
