CHRISTOPHER MAYLETT PULLED OUT HIS GIRLFRIEND'S HAIR IN ROW OVER HEADPHONES
Maylett, 24, of Walpole Road in Crosland Moor, admitted assaulting Rosie Holland as he tried to grab her mobile phone away from her.
He became upset during an incident at Miss Holland’s home in Thongsbridge on April 28, and as he headed downstairs, he punched holes in the bedroom and kitchen doors.
He also pulled out some of her hair during an argument over headphones, which she was on the phone to her mother about.
Miss Holland’s mother called police after hearing the incident.
Magistrates heard that Maylett had gone to the house to see his daughter and that the argument escalated after Miss Holland commented about him not being able to see the children.
Alex Bozman, prosecuting, said that Maylett took the phone from Miss Holland and threatened to hit her over the head.
He grabbed her arm and squeezed it during the altercation.
Maylett was sentenced to a community order with 20 days of rehabilitation activities, and has to pay £85 costs and £85 victim surcharge.
Magistrates also made a restraining order banning him from contacting his ex or going to her home for a year.
