CHRISTOPHER MAROCHETTI OF DUNFERMLINE SENTENCED FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE
A man from Dunfermline, identified as Christopher Marchetti, aged 43 and residing on Broomhead Drive, has been sentenced following a prolonged period of domestic abuse directed at his former partner. The court heard that between March 1, 2020, and September 24, 2022, Marchetti exhibited a pattern of abusive behavior at various locations within Dunfermline.
His conduct included threatening to take his own life if his partner left him, as well as shouting, swearing, and damaging her property.
Depute fiscal Amy Robertson explained that Marchetti struggled to accept their breakup, revealing that on one occasion, he visited her home in an agitated state, throwing a plant pot across the front garden and pulling a gate from its hinges.
Sheriff Francis Gill commented, “You should have accepted the relationship was over.
Your behaviour was unacceptable.” As a consequence, Marchetti received a community payback order with 12 months of supervision and a non-harassment order for the same duration.
The court noted that his actions encompassed vandalism and threats, illustrating a sustained pattern of domestic offences over more than two years.
