CHRISTOPHER LEYDON SENTENCED IN ST ALBANS FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN WORCESTER
In October 2017, a man from St Albans was handed a significant prison sentence after being convicted of multiple serious sexual offences committed in Worcester.Christopher Leydon, aged 28 and residing on Hardwicke Place in London Colney, was brought before Worcester Crown Court on Friday, October 6, where the jury found him guilty of a series of disturbing crimes involving a minor.
Leydon was convicted of engaging in sexual acts with a boy under the age of 13, including anal rape and sexual assault.
Additionally, he was found guilty of inciting a child to participate in sexual activities, a charge that underscores the severity of his misconduct.
The court also determined that Leydon possessed indecent images of children on four separate counts, further highlighting the extent of his criminal behavior.
Despite maintaining his innocence and pleading not guilty to all charges, the jury's verdict was unanimous in finding Leydon guilty on all counts.
The court responded to the gravity of his offences by imposing an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, which restricts his contact with minors and limits his access to devices capable of connecting to the internet, aiming to prevent any future harm.
In addition to the court orders, Leydon, who describes himself online as a freelance video producer and a technology commentator for a newspaper, was also placed on the sex offender register for life.
This measure ensures ongoing monitoring of his activities and restricts his interactions with vulnerable individuals.
The court further ordered Leydon to pay a victim surcharge of £140.
A forfeiture and destruction order was also issued concerning his computer equipment, which was confiscated and ordered to be destroyed to prevent any further misuse of indecent material.
