HARTLEPOOL MAN CHRISTOPHER HUBBERT ESCAPES JAIL AFTER SEXUAL ENCOUNTER WITH TEENAGE GIRL
In September 2017, a disturbing case involving a man from Hartlepool drew significant attention from local authorities and the community.Christopher Hubbert, aged 25 and residing on Peebles Avenue in Hartlepool, was involved in a series of troubling interactions with a teenage girl that culminated in a sexual act.
The incident began with a series of explicit messages exchanged over Facebook, where Hubbert engaged in lewd conversations with the young girl, building a pattern of inappropriate communication before they eventually met in person.
The court heard that the meeting took place at a house party in Hartlepool, where Hubbert and the girl interacted socially.
Following the party, Hubbert offered to take her home in his car.
However, instead of following through with the initial plan, he drove her to a secluded location.
There, he persuaded her to perform a sexual act on him, an act that was carried out despite her apparent discomfort.
After the incident, Hubbert took her to McDonald's for a burger, an act that seemed to be an attempt to normalize or distract from the earlier events.
He then returned her safely to her home.
Further communication between the two continued in the days that followed.
The prosecution revealed that Hubbert sent additional messages via Facebook, asking the girl for a picture and making other sexual suggestions.
Despite his requests, she never sent any photographs.
The court was also informed that Hubbert admitted to engaging in sexual activity with a child, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and encouraging the girl to participate in pornography.
Sean Dodds, the prosecutor, detailed the sequence of events and emphasized the manipulative nature of Hubbert’s actions.
The case highlighted the dangers of online communication and the importance of safeguarding minors from exploitation.
Despite the serious nature of the charges, Hubbert was ultimately spared from jail time, though he faced significant legal consequences for his actions.
