Stratford Child Sexual Abuser
In December 2016, Christopher Gale, a resident of Masons Road in Stratford, was sentenced to a three-year community order following a series of serious criminal offenses involving sexual misconduct and possession of indecent images of children. The court heard that Gale was convicted of multiple charges, including sexual assault, common assault, and possessing indecent images of minors as well as extreme pornography. These convictions stemmed from a disturbing pattern of behavior that had been uncovered earlier that year.

In October 2016, Gale appeared before Warwick Crown Court to face allegations related to his targeting of schoolgirls in Stratford. The case revealed that Gale had engaged in two separate incidents involving young girls dressed in school uniforms, after authorities had already discovered indecent images of children on his computer. Prosecutor Daniel Oscroft detailed that in August of the previous year, a male acquaintance of Gale’s was at his residence when he noticed a suspicious search term on Gale’s laptop. The search involved a young girl performing a sexual act, which raised immediate concern. The acquaintance contacted the police, leading to a search of Gale’s home and the seizure of his computer. Investigators found numerous images depicting naked young girls alongside extreme pornography, confirming Gale’s possession of illegal material.

Further incidents occurred in December at Morrison’s supermarket on Alcester Road. A 15-year-old girl and her male friend were waiting inside the store for their mothers to pick them up after school. Gale approached the pair and asked them to step outside. Once outside, he engaged the boy by asking for a sweet, and in an unsettling manner, with his hands behind his back, opened his mouth and extended his tongue, attempting to feed the boy a sweet. The girl, who was still in her school uniform, found Gale’s behavior to be “a bit creepy,” and she and her friend decided to walk away. However, the situation escalated when Gale later approached her again near a bench outside the store. He placed his hand on her shoulder and began sliding it down towards her breast. The girl quickly pushed him away, told him to leave her alone, and alerted store staff, who detained Gale until police arrived.

During his arrest, Gale exhibited bizarre and inappropriate behavior. Prosecutor Oscroft described how Gale told the arresting officer, “haven’t you got big brown eyes? What a beautiful man,” before flailing his arms and lunging at the officer in an attempt to grab his arm. Officers managed to restrain him, but his conduct was clearly erratic and concerning.

Gale was granted bail following this incident. However, in February of the following year, he was involved in another disturbing encounter. Near Stratford railway station, a 17-year-old girl in school uniform was pushing her bike along the footpath when Gale approached her. Initially, she thought he was going to reprimand her for riding her bike on the pavement, but instead, he pointed at her waist and flicked her nose with his finger. He then instructed her to put her bike against the wall, claiming she was under arrest, but she quickly realized he was not a police officer. When she asked his age, Gale responded with a disturbing comment, saying, “Ooh, you’re a bit young, but it is my birthday.” Suspecting a sexual motive, the girl attempted to ride away, but Gale grabbed her arm. Fortunately, she managed to escape from his grasp.

Gale’s defense attorney, Jamie Strong, explained that Gale had been in custody since this incident. He noted that a probation officer had been unable to assess Gale for a community order or suspended sentence due to Gale’s uncooperative stance during the interview. A psychiatric report had been prepared but was not yet available for review. The case was adjourned by Judge Richard Griffith-Jones to allow the probation officer to investigate whether suitable programs or residential conditions could be arranged for Gale, considering the psychiatric evaluation.

Overall, the case highlights the disturbing pattern of behavior exhibited by Christopher Gale in Stratford, involving both predatory actions towards young girls and possession of illegal images, leading to a significant criminal sentence and ongoing judicial proceedings.
