CHRISTOPHER BROOK OF BAILDON PLEADS GUILTY TO CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OFFENSE AT BRADFORD CROWN COURT

In August 2012, Christopher Brook, a 58-year-old resident of Knoll Park Drive, Baildon, was found to possess child abuse images on his computer. During a police raid at his former address on Cliffe Terrace, Baildon, officers discovered 20 indecent images of children stored across two computers.

Prosecutor Paul Nicholson stated that the police identified nine of these images at level three and two at level four on the severity scale. Brook told officers, “I thought I’d get a slap on the wrist and be told not to do it again,” reflecting his expectation of minimal consequences.

The court was informed that Brook had unknowingly downloaded the images while accessing legal adult pornography. The defendant suffers from significant health issues.

At Bradford Crown Court, Brook pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to a three-year community order, which includes supervision by the probation service and a 60-day high-level activity requirement. Additionally, he was subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order that has no expiry date.

This order permits police to monitor Brook’s internet activity, and he is also required to sign the sex offender register for five years.
