MET POLICE OFFICER DISMISSED FOR SEXUALLY TOUCHING FEMALE COLLEAGUE
An officer has been dismissed from the Met Police after allegations surfaced that he had intentionally touched a female colleague on her buttock in a sexual manner.The officer, Detective Sergeant Christopher Arnold, who was part of Met Operations, faced a three-day hearing that concluded on Wednesday, July 23.
The hearing revealed that on July 22, 2021, the accusation was made against DS Arnold.
The panel determined that Arnold had violated the standards of professional behavior in relation to discreditable conduct, and these violations were classified as gross misconduct.
Commander Lou Pudefoot, who supervises Met Operations, stated: "The actions of DS Arnold were completely inappropriate and his behavior fell well below the standards expected of a Metropolitan Police officer.
He has rightly been dismissed." Following his dismissal, DS Arnold will be added to the Barred List maintained by the College of Policing.
Individuals on this list are prohibited from employment by police, local policing bodies, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, and His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services.
The incident and subsequent disciplinary procedures highlight strict enforcement of professionalism within the police force, aiming to uphold standards and protect colleagues from misconduct.
