CAERPHILLY MAN JAILED FOR ASSAULT AND COERCIVE CONTROL AFTER GIRLFRIEND'S DEATH
A man with a history of violence has been sentenced to prison after assaulting his new girlfriend in the Wattsville area of Caerphilly on Saturday, September 2 last year.Christian Ambrosen, aged 34, was found to have repeatedly punched the victim in the face.
The woman unfortunately has since died, as confirmed by Cardiff Crown Court.
Ambrosen pleaded guilty to charges of assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH) and engaging in controlling and/or coercive behavior.
In addition to the assault, he also admitted to driving while disqualified and breaching a suspended sentence.
The court heard that Ambrosen has a prior conviction for wounding and assault by beating from 2022, which involved attacking three innocent victims, including a husband and wife, after falsely accusing them of being paedophiles.
The judge sentenced him to two years and three months in prison, with additional consecutive terms for driving while disqualified and breach of a suspended sentence, leading to a total sentence of two years and six months.
Ambrosen, now residing in Cardiff, was also disqualified from driving for five years and nine months and was ordered to pay a £228 victim surcharge upon release.
