CHRIS EVANS BRANDED A COWARD AFTER BRUTAL ATTACK ON TAUNTON TODDLER

In June 2017, a disturbing case unfolded in Taunton involving a 24-year-old man named Chris Evans, who was found guilty of inflicting severe injuries on a young child. The incident, which drew significant attention from local authorities and the community, highlighted the brutal nature of the assault and the subsequent judicial response.

According to reports, Evans, residing on Crescent Way in Taunton, appeared before Taunton Crown Court to face charges of cruelty to a person under the age of 16. The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on November 19 of the previous year, when police were called to investigate the condition of a young boy, the victim of the assault. The child's mother had reported that her son was covered in bruises, prompting immediate concern and a police investigation.

Medical examinations at the hospital revealed a horrifying array of injuries. The young boy was found to have sustained a total of 27 separate injuries, including two bite marks on his arm. The injuries also included bruises located behind his ears, on his chest, neck, buttocks, thighs, and arms. The attending doctor confirmed that these injuries were non-accidental, indicating deliberate harm rather than accidental trauma.

During police questioning, Evans admitted to biting the child, explaining that he did so in a moment of temper after the boy had bitten him. He told authorities that he was angry and had shouted at the child, justifying his actions as a form of retaliation. His own words revealed a troubling lack of remorse and a disturbing justification for his violent behavior.

The court's sentencing was delivered by Recorder Oba Nsugbe, who condemned Evans' conduct in no uncertain terms. The judge described the attack as disgraceful and cowardly, emphasizing the vulnerability of the victim.
