CHARLES LOGAN FROM BROMLEY PLEADS GUILTY TO SEX OFFENCE INVOLVING TEENAGE GIRL IN WESTMINSTER
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the local community, Charles Logan, a secondary school teacher based in Westminster, has admitted to engaging in illegal sexual activities with a 15-year-old girl.The incident came to light after a thorough investigation by the Metropolitan Police's child abuse unit, which was prompted by allegations made against Logan in September of the previous year.
Logan was taken into custody at his residence in Bromley in December 2009, following suspicions of sexual misconduct involving the underage girl.
The investigation quickly gathered momentum, leading to his appearance before the magistrates at Camberwell Green on December 17.
During the court proceedings, Logan pleaded guilty to charges of inciting sexual activity with a minor aged between 13 and 17, as well as abusing a position of trust as an educator.

The school, which has chosen to remain unnamed for legal reasons, responded swiftly by terminating his employment immediately after the allegations surfaced.

Furthermore, Cllr Nickie Allen, the head of Westminster Council's children’s services, reaffirmed the council’s zero-tolerance stance on such offenses.
She stated, “This is clearly a very serious incident and, as soon as the council and school were made aware of what occurred, we acted swiftly, immediately suspending the teacher concerned.” She added, “I would like to reassure parents and their children that we treat the care and well-being of pupils in Westminster with the utmost importance.
Our child protection team and schools will continue to work with the police to safeguard children and young people in Westminster.” Detective Constable Jon Knox, who led the investigation, commented on the case, saying, “Logan abused a position of trust for his own sexual gratification.
Fortunately, swift action from the police and the school has prevented him from offending again.
We can only be grateful that he pleaded guilty and that the victim did not have to endure the trauma of giving evidence in court.” This case highlights the ongoing efforts by authorities to protect minors from exploitation and ensure that those who abuse their positions are held accountable.
