Wombwell Animal Abuser
On January 5, 2015, a disturbing case of animal neglect was uncovered at a modest one-bedroom flat in Wombwell, Barnsley, involving Charlene McDowall and Lawrence Skrzydlo. The RSPCA responded to a distress call from a concerned member of the public who reported that the owners had been away for a week, leaving their numerous animals unattended and in dire conditions.

Upon arrival, inspectors were met with a shocking and distressing sight: fifty animals, including rabbits, gerbils, hamsters, bearded dragons, a corn snake, and a kitten, were found living in squalid, overcrowded conditions within the cramped confines of the flat. The environment was described as a
