FIFE NURSERY WORKER TO STAND TRIAL FOR TODDLER ABUSE
A nursery worker in Fife, Caroline Taylor, aged 44, from Cupar, is scheduled to stand trial over allegations of physically abusing a toddler at a nursery in Cupar.The charges include holding a young child upside down, causing blood vessels around the child's eyes to burst, lifting a three-year-old by his feet and carrying him across a room before dropping him.
These incidents are alleged to have taken place between November 2013 and February 2014 at the Busy Bee nursery in Tannage Close, Cupar.
Ms.
Taylor pleaded not guilty to three charges at Dundee Sheriff Court.
The third charge accuses her of 'wilfully ill treating and emotionally abusing' children under her care in a manner likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury to health.
Prosecutors also allege that she spoke to the children in an inappropriate manner and threatened physical abuse if they did not behave.
The trial was scheduled for February, with a pre-trial hearing set for January.
