EVEDON PENSIONER CAROL BOWDITCH CAUGHT HAVING SEX WITH DOGS SPARED PRISON

In April 2017, a disturbing case involving a pensioner from Evedon came to light, revealing shocking details of animal abuse and illegal activities. Carol Bowditch, aged 64, was found to have engaged in sexual acts with multiple dogs, including a St Bernard, a black Labrador, and an Alsatian. Her activities were uncovered through an investigation conducted by RAF police, which initially focused on a man suspected of organizing a bizarre and disturbing event where dog owners watched their pets engage in sexual acts with women, before the women themselves participated in sexual activities. This grotesque event was later discussed and shared on an internet forum dedicated to bestiality, bringing the case to the attention of authorities.

As part of the investigation, police officers executed a search of Bowditch’s residence in Evedon. During the search, they discovered a DVD and a USB stick containing footage of her involved in sexual acts with dogs. The evidence was deeply disturbing and included explicit images and videos that depicted Bowditch engaging in sexual intercourse with the animals. Prosecutor Victoria Rose, speaking at Lincoln Crown Court, detailed the findings, stating, “When the DVD was analysed it was found to contain extreme images. Those images portrayed persons committing penetrative sexual acts with dogs. Also included were images of this defendant herself carrying out sexual activity.”

One particularly graphic video, lasting nearly nine minutes, showed Bowditch engaging in vaginal and oral sex with a dog named Oscar, a St Bernard. During her police interview, Bowditch admitted to having engaged in sexual acts with dogs, acknowledging that these acts had taken place over a period of several years. She claimed she was unaware that such conduct was illegal. She identified the animals involved, stating she had vaginal sex once with a Labrador and twice with an Alsatian, in addition to the incident with Oscar. Prosecutor Rose further revealed that authorities found at least eight photographs and 30 video clips depicting Bowditch in sexual acts with dogs.

Bowditch faced charges for engaging in sexual intercourse with animals between November 13, 2011, and November 25, 2014. She also admitted to possessing 37 extreme pornographic images during the court proceedings. The court sentenced her to a community order with 12 months of supervision and imposed a 16-week nighttime curfew to monitor her activities. Judge Michael Heath, presiding over the case, condemned her actions, stating, “What you engaged in was first of all unlawful and secondly disgusting. I am told that you have received public humiliation as a result of the publicity that this case has attracted. That does not surprise me.”

In a related case, Daniel Galloway, aged 65 and residing at the same address in Evedon, admitted to aiding and abetting Bowditch in her acts of animal abuse. He also faced serious charges including making indecent images of children, possessing a prohibited image of a child, distributing 1,861 indecent images of children, and possessing extreme pornography. His sentencing was postponed to a later date, leaving his case pending before the court.
