SOUTH CUMBRIAN MAN AVOIDS PRISON AFTER CHILD ABUSE IMAGE CONVICTION
A South Cumbrian man, Carl McCracken, aged 51, was sentenced after police found that he had downloaded child abuse images.
He appeared before Carlisle Crown Court facing five counts of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, three counts of downloading indecent images of children, and two allegations of failing to comply with sex offender register conditions.
McCracken admitted all charges.
Police investigation revealed that he had downloaded 17 indecent child images between May 30, 2020, and August 31, on devices seized from his home in Milnthorpe.
Four of these images were classified as Category A, indicating the most severe kind, with five images in Category B and eight in Category C.
He had violated his existing Sexual Harm Prevention Order by deleting browsing history and using Snapchat, Tiktok, and cloud storage.
