Leyland Child Sexual Abuser
In a recent case that has shocked the community of Leyland, a man identified as Carl Holden, aged 36 and residing on St Johns Green, was sentenced to a prison term after admitting to serious sexual misconduct. The incidents, which took place last month, involved Holden performing sexual acts in front of two young girls, causing significant distress and concern among local residents.

According to reports, Holden first approached a 14-year-old girl on Westgate, engaging in inappropriate behavior that was witnessed by the victim. Just four days later, he was seen outside Balshaw High School on Church Street, where he again committed a similar act in the presence of a 15-year-old girl. Both incidents occurred within a short span of time, highlighting a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior.

Following his guilty plea, Holden was sentenced to 14 months in prison. Additionally, he has been placed on the sex offenders register for a period of ten years, a measure intended to monitor and restrict his activities moving forward. The sentencing reflects the severity of his actions and the impact on the victims involved.

Sgt Ian Derbyshire, of Leyland CID, expressed his condemnation of Holden’s conduct, stating, “Holden is a serious sexual criminal with no regards for his victims. To have carried out these crimes shows first-hand what a threat he is to both Leyland and South Ribble as a whole. He traumatised two young girls with these dreadful acts, and his jailing and placement on the sex offenders register is welcomed.”

The case has underscored the importance of community vigilance and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to protect vulnerable individuals from predatory behavior. Authorities hope that the sentencing will serve as a warning to others and bring some measure of justice to those affected by Holden’s actions.
