CARL FORRESTER SENTENCED IN OXFORD FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND SEXUAL ASSAULT ON TEENAGER
In a serious case that has shocked the community of Oxford, Carl Forrester, a 56-year-old resident of Canning Crescent in South Oxford, was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court for multiple offenses involving child exploitation and abuse. The court heard that Forrester had engaged in disturbing online activities, including the download of hundreds of indecent images of children, and had also physically assaulted a young girl.Specifically, Forrester was convicted last month of engaging in sexual activity with a minor in 2007. The court also found that between September 2005 and July 2007, he had downloaded a total of 339 indecent images of children. Among these images, police identified 18 photographs on two computers located at his residence that were classified as level four in severity, with level five being the most serious category of child exploitation material.
Prosecutor Peter Coombe emphasized the disturbing nature of the evidence, stating, “What is found on his computer shows a very unhealthy interest in underage girls, but it goes further because he is clearly trying to action his fantasies.” He added that Forrester had successfully lured a girl under the age of 16 into his bedroom during the night, a clear indication that his behavior had escalated from voyeurism to predatory actions.
During the court proceedings, Clare Fraser, representing the defendant, maintained that Forrester still denied the charges. She argued that the sexual activity with a child was at the lowest level of criminal offense, suggesting that her client’s actions did not warrant the most severe penalties.
Ultimately, Recorder Peter Kyte sentenced Forrester to six months in prison for the possession and download of child pornography. Additionally, he imposed a concurrent one-month sentence for the sexual activity with a minor. To further protect the community, the court issued a five-year sexual offences prevention order, which restricts Forrester’s access to the Internet and limits his contact with underage girls, aiming to prevent any future offenses.
