CARL ADIMADO AND HIS SHOCKING SEXUAL OFFENCES IN LONDON
A man named Carl Adimado has been sentenced to prison in relation to a series of serious sexual offences committed across the London boroughs of Hackney and Enfield. The investigation into his crimes was thorough and persistent, ultimately revealing a disturbing pattern of offending that spanned several months.
On Tuesday, April 4, Carl Adimado, aged 34 and born on February 13, 1989, appeared before Snaresbrook Crown Court to face justice for his actions.
The court handed down a substantial prison sentence of four years and six months.
In addition to his time behind bars, he will serve a further three years and six months on licence, meaning he will be under supervision once released from incarceration.
Furthermore, Adimado will be permanently registered on the sex offender’s register, an obligation for life.
His case also resulted in the imposition of a sexual harm prevention order that contains strict conditions designed to protect the public from further offending.
These measures reflect the severity and multiplicity of his crimes.
The offences attributed to him include a total of 22 counts of up-skirting, which involves secretly recording under a person’s skirt without their consent.
He was also responsible for five counts of sexually assaulting a child, along with four counts of exposing himself in public.
Additionally, he faced two counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, two counts of sexual assault, and two counts of producing indecent photographs of children.
Prior to the sentencing, Adimado had pleaded guilty to 37 different charges at the same court during a hearing on December 8, 2022.
This admission of guilt covered multiple offences, further exemplifying the extent of his criminal conduct.
The Metropolitan Police's Predatory Offender Unit played a crucial role in bringing Adimado to justice.
PC Lee Ravens, a representative from the unit, emphasized the dangerous nature of Adimado’s behavior, stating, “Carl Adimado is a predatory offender who has committed a variety of indecent offences, in high volume, against women and girls.
He was clearly not going to stop until caught.” The initial report that led to his arrest emerged in July 2022, when a woman came forward to police alleging that on July 10, 2022, she was subjected to being 'up-skirted' in a supermarket near Seven Sisters Road.
Investigators quickly responded, examining CCTV footage from the scene.
The footage enabled officers to identify the suspect as Carl Adimado, who was working at the supermarket at the time of the incident.
Following this identification, police officers executed an arrest warrant at Adimado’s residence.
After being taken into custody, he was interviewed by detectives but was released on bail pending further inquiries.
However, the police weren’t convinced that this was an isolated case; their investigation extended, examining more CCTV footage, which unearthed an additional 16 offences committed against eight different victims—all occurring within a single day.
These offences, for which Adimado was subsequently charged via postal allegations, included acts of upskirting, public exposure, and sexual assaults.
A search of his mobile phone revealed a large collection of indecent images of children, alongside disturbing videos depicting him exposing himself, touching himself publicly, and sexually assaulting schoolgirls, many of whom were dressed in uniform.
Adimado was arrested again in connection with these further offences and placed in custody.
He later admitted to the 16 counts of upskirting during police interviews.
The investigation deepened when authorities analyzed the school uniforms visible in the videos, allowing them to identify and locate the victims—primarily school-aged girls.
Interviews were conducted with the victims and their parents under the supervision of social workers and support agencies.
Once the victims were supported and the case was prepared, police charged Adimado with an additional 21 offences, bringing the total criminal counts to 37.
He pleaded guilty to these new charges during his court appearance in December 2022 and was remanded in custody to await sentencing.
PC Ravens emphasized the importance of reporting such crimes: “This case clearly demonstrates the need for offences of this type to be reported to police.
Just one brave woman coming forward has made it possible for us to remove a dangerous and callous sex offender from the community where he was offending against women and schoolgirls, as well as to identify and support other brave yet vulnerable victims.” He concluded by encouraging victims to come forward, stating, “I applaud her actions and hope that this case encourages other women to come forward and report incidents of this type in the knowledge that such reports will be taken seriously and investigated fully.
If you have been a victim of any level of sexual assault, please do report it to police, at the very least so that we can support you — at best so that we can also remove predators to a place where they are no longer a danger to women and girls.”
