FIFE MAN CAMERON DUNCAN CAUGHT WITH OVER 200 INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN IN SHOCKING CASE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Fife, Cameron Duncan, a 19-year-old resident of Henryson Road, Dunfermline, was found to possess an alarming collection of indecent images of children.The investigation unfolded on March 5 of the previous year, when police officers arrived at Duncan’s residence at approximately 7:35 am.
Upon arrival, they discovered that most of the household occupants, including Duncan himself and his partner, were still asleep.
The officers found Duncan and his partner lying on a mattress in the dining room, with other family members, including Duncan’s parents and siblings, also present in the house.
Following standard procedure, the police gathered all individuals in a single room and informed them that they suspected someone at the address had accessed and stored indecent photographs of minors.
The officers proceeded to conduct a thorough search of the premises, during which they seized electronic devices for forensic analysis.
The subsequent examination of Duncan’s phone and tablet revealed a disturbing cache of images.
Specifically, investigators identified 59 images classified as Category A, which is considered the most severe and explicit, along with 52 images categorized as B and 94 images as C.
These images depicted children aged between four and 15 years old, highlighting the grave nature of the offense.
Later, Duncan appeared before Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court to face charges related to the possession and creation of indecent photographs.
He admitted to the court that between February 11, 2020, and February 24, 2020, he had taken, permitted to be taken, or made indecent images or pseudo-photographs of children at his residence.
The prosecution, led by depute fiscal Claire Bremner, outlined the circumstances of the case, noting that police had acted on information provided by an informant.
The officers were granted entry into the property by one of the occupants, and the contents of the search warrant were read aloud during the proceedings.
During questioning, a Snapchat social media account was mentioned, which Duncan’s partner recognized as belonging to him.
An initial review of Duncan’s phone revealed 50 indecent images of children, spanning categories A to C.
However, a more comprehensive forensic scan later uncovered a total of 205 images, all of which had been inaccessible to Duncan himself.
The evidence indicated that the children depicted ranged in age from as young as four to 15 years old, underscoring the severity of the case.
In his defense, Duncan’s solicitor, Mark Harrower, presented a letter from Duncan’s parents and medical records indicating that Duncan had been diagnosed with autism at the age of 17.
The defense requested that the court consider this medical history as part of Duncan’s background.
Sheriff Jamie Gilchrist QC decided to defer sentencing until March 15 to allow for the preparation of detailed background reports.
In the meantime, Duncan was placed on the sex offenders’ register, reflecting the seriousness of the charges against him.
