KITCHEN BOSS PLACED UNDER SUPERVISION AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULT CONVICTION
Calum Main, 42, of Hopeman, was convicted of sexually assaulting a man inside Aberdeen’s Cheerz Bar on Exchange Street on September 16, 2024.
The charge states that Main had repeatedly tried to kiss the other man, attempted to touch, hug, and fondle his genitals, bit the man on the ear, and kissed him on the neck and mouth all without his consent.
Main was also convicted of presenting his cheek and encouraging a kiss.
He denied the charge but was found guilty at a trial on August 25 this year.
His defence argued he was remorseful.
Sheriff Elizabeth McFarlane mentioned that Main had some 'plus points' in his background report and that he was a first offender.
She sentenced him to a short period of supervision and ordered him to participate in a work program for six months.
Main was placed under a community payback order with supervision for six months, added to the sex offenders register, and subject to notification requirements under the Sexual Offences Act for six months.
