WIGAN OFFENDER STAMPS EX-GIRLFRIEND'S HEAD AND WALKS FREE FROM COURT
A violent offender named Callum Wareing, aged 18, has been convicted of domestic violence offenses but surprisingly received a suspended jail sentence.
Wareing, a groundworker from Wigan, flew into a jealous rage after accusing his ex-girlfriend, Jodie Walsh Turner, of ignoring his calls.
Prosecutor Carl Gaffney stated that Wareing became enraged when Jodie blocked his phone number following their breakup.
He then appeared at her friend’s house, shouting, “Who the f*** do you think you are ignoring my calls?” before violently stamping on her head five times and dragging her across the room by her hair, causing cuts and bruises.
Magistrates described the incident as "an extremely serious case of domestic violence," and the court noted Wareing’s lack of remorse.
Evidence submitted included abusive Snapchat messages and threatening to kill Jodie by "smashing her head with a hammer and cutting her face." Despite the gravity, Wareing was sentenced to 90 days in jail, suspended for a year, alongside 125 hours of unpaid work, rehabilitation requirements, and ordered to pay £250 in compensation to his victim, along with a £120 victim surcharge.
Magistrate Helen Wildon emphasized the seriousness of the attack, but Wareing ultimately walked free from court.
Jodie Walsh Turner, now 18, shared her experience on Facebook, describing her ordeal of being pushed, slapped, spat at, humiliated, punched, and strangled by Wareing, and also revealed that he threatened to kill her and even said he was willing to go to jail.
Wareing is under a restraining order forbidding contact with Jodie.
The incident highlights ongoing concerns about domestic violence and accountability.
