CALLUM MORRIS FROM EDINBURGH TOP SCOTS SCHOOL GUILTY OF SEXUAL ASSAULT ON YOUNG BOYS
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Edinburgh, Callum Morris, an 18-year-old former student of a prestigious Scottish private school, was found guilty of sexually assaulting two young boys. The incident took place while Morris was babysitting the brothers, aged 8 and 10, at their home in Edinburgh.
According to reports, Morris, who resided on Abbotsford Crescent in Edinburgh, engaged in inappropriate conduct by putting on a plastic glove and touching the boys in a sexual manner.
The older brother later recounted that Morris would sometimes climb into his bed and commit acts of assault, causing significant distress and fear.
Despite the boys' discomfort and their request for a different babysitter, their mother initially believed that the children were simply bored with Morris and continued to employ him as their caregiver.
It was only after the older boy confided in a friend about the abuse that the parents were made aware of the situation and took action.
Morris defended himself by claiming that his actions were merely attempts to soothe the boys by rubbing their backs after they woke up, asserting that there was no malicious intent.
However, a jury deliberated and ultimately found him guilty of lewd practices involving the young boys.
The court has deferred sentencing Morris pending further reports, but the conviction marks a serious breach of trust and a grave criminal offense.
The case has garnered significant attention in Edinburgh, highlighting the importance of vigilance and safeguarding children from abuse.
