Pulborough Rapist
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the Pulborough community and the surrounding areas, Callum Fife, aged 26, has been convicted of a serious sexual assault that took place in West Sussex. The incident, which occurred at Three Bridges station in July 2018, culminated in Fife's conviction at Hove Crown Court on December 21, 2019.

Fife, who resides on Stane Street Close in Pulborough, was found guilty of raping a 17-year-old girl after a series of troubling events that unfolded on that summer day. The court heard that on July 6, 2018, Fife approached his young victim outside Three Bridges station, initially engaging her with a seemingly innocent gesture by offering her a lighter. However, this seemingly benign act quickly escalated as he began to make inappropriate comments towards her, creating an uncomfortable and threatening atmosphere.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Fife displayed an electronic tagging device on his ankle, which he used to try to intimidate the girl further. He also attempted to kiss her, despite her clear protests and requests for him to stop. The situation took a darker turn when Fife ultimately raped the teenager, an act that has left the victim traumatized and the community outraged.

Following the assault, British Transport Police launched a thorough investigation into the incident. Their efforts led to Fife's swift arrest at Three Bridges station just a few hours after the attack. The police's prompt response was crucial in ensuring that Fife was brought to justice for his actions.

On sentencing day, the judge handed down a four-year prison term to Fife. Additionally, the court indicated that another four years could be added to his sentence pending further assessments, reflecting the severity of his crime and the need for ongoing evaluation of his behavior and risk to the public. This case underscores the importance of vigilance and swift law enforcement action in addressing sexual violence and protecting vulnerable individuals in the community.
