PERTHSHIRE THUG ATTACKED PARTNER THEN MOANED: ‘EVERY WOMAN CLAIMS DOMESTIC ABUSE’
A man with a history of domestic violence conducted a brutal attack on his partner at their residence in Auchterarder, involving multiple forms of assault.
During the incident, Byron Garland threatened to kill his girlfriend and told her she would not leave alive.
He inflicted injuries by attacking her with a plant pot, strangling her, pulling her by her hair across the floor, and kicking her.
Despite her pleas to stop, he continued the assault and made inappropriate remarks about domestic abuse.
Garland also threatened her life during the attack.
The court heard that he repeatedly dragged her back whenever she attempted to escape.
Garland, aged 26 and already convicted twice for domestic offenses, pleaded guilty to assault causing injury and risking her life.
He was taken into custody following his arrest on the night of the attack.
The sentencing was delayed to allow for background reports.
Garland has been in detention since September of the previous year.
