2007: MAN JAILED AFTER MAKING THREATS TO EX GIRLFRIEND AND POSSESSING A SAWN-OFF SHOTGUN
A woman from Dymock was terrified after her ex-partner, Bruce Clarke, threatened to burn her house down and displayed a sawn-off shotgun.
Clarke, 40 years old and living in Baylis Road, Cheltenham, had a significant criminal record in Birmingham but had allegedly turned his life around in recent times.
He was sentenced to three and a half years after pleading guilty to illegally owning a modified shotgun less than four years following his release from prison and for possessing a firearm at the time of his arrest.
Previously, he had threatened to release her horses, set her property on fire, and cause her ongoing distress.
Clarke was taken into custody in Cheltenham, where police found the firearm and ammunition in his car.
The court imposed a 42-month sentence and ordered the destruction of the weapon and its ammunition.
