Dundee Domestic Abuser
A 20-year-old man named Bruce Bryceland from Elders Court has been involved in a domestic assault incident during an argument at a local students’ union in Dundee. During the incident on June 29, Bryceland struck his girlfriend on the head and squirted an unknown liquid at her, causing her to scream. Following this, he approached her again and punched her on the head. Bryceland pled guilty during a pre-trial hearing at Dundee Sheriff Court to the charge of domestically aggravated assault, which included hitting his partner and squirting liquid at her. Sheriff Lorna Drummond deferred sentencing to allow reports to be prepared. It was revealed that this was his second domestic assault conviction. The court heard that the incident stemmed from a heated discussion about their sexual relationship at the Dundee University Students’ Association (DUSA) building on Airlie Place. The court emphasized the domestic nature of the assault, as the victim was his partner at the time.
