BRIAN MELABIANKIS SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN HERTFORDSHIRE
A man from Letchworth, Hertfordshire, who was found guilty of multiple serious sexual offenses involving minors, has been sentenced to prison time.Brian Melabiankis, aged 25 and formerly residing on Marmet Avenue in Letchworth, was handed down a sentence of 29 months at St Albans Crown Court on Monday.
The court proceedings revealed a disturbing pattern of criminal activity committed by Melabiankis over a short period, specifically between October and December of 2017.
During this time, he engaged in activities that involved the exploitation and abuse of children, including the production and distribution of indecent images.
His actions have caused significant concern given the nature of the offences.
In total, Melabiankis faced 19 charges related to child exploitation.
His charges comprised seven counts of distributing indecent images of children, nine counts of making such images, two counts of attempting to communicate with a minor for sexual purposes, and one count of engaging in sexual communication with a child.
The court heard that Melabiankis pleaded guilty to all these charges, acknowledging his involvement in the criminal activities.
As part of his sentencing, he was also ordered to be included on the sex offenders register for a period of 10 years, a measure aimed at maintaining public safety and monitoring his activities post-release.
