BRIAN HILLS FROM CRADLEY AND ROLFE – EVERTON JAILED FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
In a serious case that has shocked the local communities of Cradley and Rolfe – Everton, a 66-year-old man has been sentenced to prison for possessing and downloading explicit images of children. Brian Hills-Rolfe, whose residence is on Milford Road in Everton, was found to have accumulated over 150 indecent photographs of minors, along with several videos depicting similar content, on his personal computer.Authorities acted on intelligence received in October of the previous year, which indicated that a computer associated with Hills-Rolfe’s address was being used to access and download these illegal images. This led to a police search of his home, during which the evidence was uncovered. The investigation revealed that Hills-Rolfe had deliberately sought out and stored these disturbing images, which included children as young as one year old. The material also depicted children aged between one and ten, with some videos involving adults sexually assaulting minors.
During a court hearing, Hills-Rolfe pleaded guilty to 13 counts of making indecent images of children. Prosecutor David Reid emphasized the severity of the material, stating that some of the images and videos were among the most serious he had encountered, involving very young children and explicit abuse.
In his defense, Rebecca Austin, representing Hills-Rolfe, acknowledged her client’s feelings of guilt, regret, and profound shame over his actions. Despite this, the court was clear about the gravity of the offense.
Judge John Harrow delivered the sentence, condemning the trade of sharing such images as “a vile trade.” He pointed out that Hills-Rolfe had actively downloaded and accessed these images multiple times, demonstrating deliberate intent. The judge sentenced Hills-Rolfe to six months in prison for each of the offenses, with all sentences to run concurrently. Additionally, Hills-Rolfe was ordered to sign the sex offenders register, marking a significant legal consequence for his actions and serving as a reminder of the seriousness with which such crimes are treated.
