SWINDON PAEDOPHILE BRIAN FRASER SENTENCED AFTER CHILD SEX OFFENCES AND DANGEROUS DRIVING IN SWINDON AND BLACKPOOL
In December 2019, a disturbing case involving a Swindon man named Brian Fraser came to light, culminating in his conviction and sentencing for a series of serious criminal offences.Fraser, aged 51 and formerly residing on Curtis Street in Swindon, was handed a prison sentence of four years and two months at Swindon Crown Court on November 28, after he pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to child exploitation and dangerous driving.
Fraser's criminal activities came to the attention of law enforcement authorities through intelligence reports indicating that he had been engaging in online conversations with the intent of watching and participating in the sexual abuse of children as young as eight years old.
Under the alias ‘Shaun,’ Fraser sought indecent images of children via his online profile, which was used to communicate with others involved in similar illicit activities.
Following a thorough investigation, police identified Fraser as the individual behind the ‘Shaun’ profile.
On January 31 of the previous year, officers executed a warrant at Fraser’s home, where they seized his computer.
The digital evidence recovered included category C indecent images of children and records of searches for explicit child sexual abuse material, confirming his involvement in such heinous acts.
Subsequently, Fraser was served with a summons to appear before Swindon Magistrates Court on April 17.
However, he failed to attend, prompting the issuance of a warrant for his arrest.
The following day, law enforcement officers attempted to stop Fraser’s vehicle in Swindon.
He did not comply with the police signals and instead drove dangerously and at high speed through the town and surrounding villages, posing a significant risk to public safety.
After a pursuit, Fraser was eventually stopped and arrested on suspicion of driving offences.
Despite these developments, Fraser again failed to appear at Swindon Crown Court on May 31, leading to the issuance of a second warrant for his apprehension.
His whereabouts remained unknown until October 15, when he was located and arrested in Blackpool.
Following his arrest, Fraser was remanded into custody and appeared in court on October 25, where he entered guilty pleas to the charges against him.
In the sentencing hearing last week, Fraser received a total prison term of four years and two months.
Additionally, he was disqualified from driving for a period of 61 months, reflecting the severity of his offences and the danger he posed to the community.
This case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat child exploitation and ensure that offenders are held accountable for their actions.
