GREENOCK MAN TO FACE TRIAL OVER DOMESTIC ABUSE ALLEGATION
A GREENOCK man is to face trial later this year on allegations that he monitored his partner’s whereabouts and physically assaulted her during a campaign of domestic abuse.Brian Craig denies engaging in an abusive course of behaviour towards the woman between February 2024 and July 2025.
Prosecutors claim that the 35-year-old committed the offence at several addresses in Greenock and elsewhere.
Craig is charged with seizing the woman’s mobile phone and looking through the device, as well as repeatedly contacting her when she left home.
It is alleged that, on more than one occasion, Craig struck her face and punched her to the body.
He also denies controlling the woman's use of money and making repeated offensive remarks to her.
Craig, of Nairn Road, pleaded not guilty to the domestic abuse charge through lawyer Aidan Gallagher at Greenock Sheriff Court.
A trial was set for December 10; Sheriff David Clapham granted Craig bail in the meantime.
