TEENAGER SENTENCED TO FOUR YEARS FOR HAIR-RIPPING ASSAULT IN GLASGOW
A would-be rapist identified as Brian Allison, aged 17, was sentenced to four years in prison at the High Court in Glasgow for a severe assault that involved tearing out chunks of his victim's hair.
The victim, a 25-year-old woman, was attacked on May 23 of the previous year.
During the assault, Allison attempted to pull her into bushes, causing noticeable bald patches by ripping her hair out.
Judge Lord Kingarth delivered the sentence, stating that Allison had subjected the woman to a frightening ordeal.
He was found guilty last month of assaulting her with intent to rape.
Allison's defense counsel described him as an immature youth unable to control his temper.
The court ordered that Allison would serve three years in a young offenders institution, with an additional year potentially to be served if he encounters trouble after his release on license.
