BRANDEN SIMCOCK FROM STOCKPORT SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF TWO YOUNG GIRLS IN REDDISH
In a case that has shocked the community of Stockport and Reddish, Brendan Simcock, aged 40, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being convicted of sexually abusing two young girls over a period of several years.The disturbing incidents took place between 2001 and 2006, with both victims being under the age of 10 at the time of the abuse.
Simcock, a resident of Woodhall Crescent in Reddish, was brought to justice more than ten years after the abuse began.
The youngest victim demonstrated remarkable bravery by coming forward to report her ordeal, which ultimately led to the investigation and subsequent charges against Simcock.
Following her disclosure, law enforcement officials approached a second girl who had also been subjected to his inappropriate conduct, confirming that the abuse was not an isolated incident.
During the trial at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court, a jury found Simcock guilty of multiple counts of indecent assault.
Specifically, he was convicted of five counts relating to the youngest girl and six counts concerning the older girl.
The court proceedings revealed the extent of the abuse, which spanned over five years and involved multiple instances of sexual misconduct.
On Thursday, the judge sentenced Simcock to 14 years in prison, a punishment reflecting the severity of his crimes.
In addition to his incarceration, he has been ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
The court also imposed a lifetime sexual harm prevention order, restricting his contact and activities to prevent any future harm.
